Step by step
- Lead with the claim. “This one edit doubled how long people watched” beats “Want to know how to get more views?”. A claim gives the viewer something to check; a vague question gives them nothing to wait for.
- Be specific. Numbers, names, and concrete outcomes read as real. General promises read as filler.
- Show it. The first frame should support the line. If you're talking about a result, have it on screen.
- Don't repay the hook in line two. If the second line answers the first completely, there's no reason to keep watching. Open a gap and close it later.
How Flurra does this
Flurra generates several opening hooks for an idea, writes the script around the one you pick in your voice, and scans the filmed video for hook strength before you post.
Common questions
- Should every hook be a bold claim?
- No. It should be a specific promise. That can be a claim, a result, or a clearly stated problem, as long as the viewer knows what they get by staying.
